LEA ANN PARSLEY An Olympic athlete, firefighter, and nurse, Lea Ann Parsley knows a lot about work/life balance. While working on her doctoral dissertation in nursing at Ohio State, she also was fighting fires—sometimes out of state—all while training to make it to Salt Lake for the 2002 Games. She won the Olympic Silver Medal in skeleton in 2002, and was named Firefighter of the Year in Ohio in 1999. "Firefighters train and train and train, because you have to be as prepared as possible before you run into that burning building. IAN PIKE, BSPE, MSc, PhD "Worksite Health for the Next Millennium." Ian Pike leads the way in showing how the workplace of the future will move beyond cost control to the active promotion of health as a core value. Dr. Ian Pike is currently the director of the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit. BCIRPU has organized its research agenda under four strategic focus areas: Surveillance, Research, Education & Knowledge Transfer and Public Information. Previously Dr. Pike served 5 years as the Regional Director of the Canadian Red Cross Society in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Previous to that, he spent 13 years at the University of Regina as the Director of the Dr. Paul Schwann Centre, an applied health and research centre, and 5 years as the Director of Employee Health and Safety services at the Healthcare Benefit Trust. His academic training is in kinesiology and health promotion, with particular emphasis on the workplace. He has some 20 years experience in health and wellness promotion, providing consultation, facilitation and research service to organizations in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. In 1997, his department was presented with an Award of Excellence by the Association of Worksite Health Promotion for its work in developing an industry-wide workplace health promotion and injury-prevention program in the health care sector in British Columbia. Dr. Pike has also participated as an invited expert at both the Toronto Health Summit and the Prince Edward Island Pilot Project.

MARK POTUCK, MSPH With a Master's degree in health education and a deep background in theater, music, and humor, Mark Potuck has a unique ability to combine quality entertainment and information into compelling and memorable keynotes and workshops. KENNETH RENTMEESTER, MPH President of Rentmeester and Associates, an organization that provides program design, management, planning, and contract negotiation services to health care, managed care, and government agencies.  Mr. Rentmeester is a nationally known speaker and consultant on HMOs, IPAs, and managed health care organizations.  He has authored several articles on cost-effective health care and prevention in the workplace.  He helped establish the Center for Health Policy and Program Evaluation at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and continues to assist in the center’s development.  Additionally, Mr. Rentmeester teaches managed care courses in the Administrative Medicine Program and Programs in Health Management, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine.  He has also served as the State Health Officer for Wisconsin.
